System Sign-Off

System Sign-Off combines shared project information, electrician access, circuit selection, test results, completion certificates, PDF export and submission into one controlled workflow.

Availability and purpose

System Sign-Off is available where Advanced Features are enabled for the workspace and System Sign-Off access is enabled for the user. It has its own user permission, separate from Engineering, and appears as a main planner tab after Reports.

The module contains Information, G1 - Completion Certificate, G2 - Schedule of Test Results, G3 - Confirmation of Electrical Completion, Include Circuits (G2) and Submission Versions subtabs. Planning calculations remain in Engineering; measured results and formal declarations belong in System Sign-Off.

Competent person required

The forms support the sign-off workflow but do not replace inspection, testing, competence or responsibility under BS 7909 and applicable electrical requirements.

Information and electricians

The Information tab pulls Event/Project, Location or Venue and Event Date from System Overview. Shared details are reused across the forms and remain editable where a correction or form-specific value is required.

The Electricians section is the central place to add and remove project electricians and manage their access. An electrician can be retained as a project record without receiving an external link.

  • Generate a link for an electrician already listed on the project.
  • Copy an active link for secure delivery to that electrician.
  • Replace a link to invalidate the existing URL and issue a new one.
  • Remove a link without deleting the electrician from the project.
  • Remove an electrician and their links while retaining values already entered in the sign-off record.
One electrician per link

Each external link is assigned to the named electrician and displays their name, email and company when opened.

Include Circuits (G2)

Include Circuits (G2) shows populated project circuits grouped by distro. Expand a circuit to review its connected equipment and available design information before selecting it for G2.

Selected circuits create prepopulated rows in the G2 schedule. Where protection details are available from the distro model, relevant device information such as the rating is brought into the row. Every automatically populated value can still be overridden on the form.

Downstream circuits

Connected load and demand flow through linked downstream distros, allowing the parent distribution context to remain visible without duplicating equipment assignments.

G1 - Completion Certificate

The G1 selector creates one certificate for each manual power source. Automatically created sources are excluded. Use Add blank G1 when another certificate is required; blank certificates can be named and still inherit the applicable shared information defaults.

Project and source information is used to prepopulate relevant fields. Maximum demand can be displayed in amperes or kVA and can be restored from the calculated project value after a manual override. Complete the supply, earthing, protective-device, inspection, duration and declaration fields for each certificate.

One certificate per distribution

Prepare a separate G1 for each electrically separate temporary distribution covered by the sign-off.

G2 - Schedule of Test Results

G2 contains the circuits selected in Include Circuits (G2). Circuit description and available protection data are prepopulated, while final-circuit status, RCD settings and method, polarity, phase sequence, earth fault loop impedance, PSCC, comments and result information are completed from the inspection and testing process.

Use Add circuit row within the table when a tested circuit is not represented by the planner model. Complete the instrument-details section for the equipment used to obtain the recorded results.

G3 - Confirmation of Electrical Completion

Use G3 to summarise completion certificates for project subsections and record the Senior Person Responsible declaration. Complete the subsystem table, certificate references, responsible-person details and signature information.

If G3 is not required for the project, select G3 not applicable. The form is then hidden and omitted from the exported and submitted PDF pack.

Completing and revoking forms

Select Complete at the bottom of a form after reviewing it. The form is locked, its values remain visible, and the completion record identifies who completed it and when. The Information tab progress tracker shows the state of each required form.

Select Revoke if further changes are required. Revoking unlocks the form for editing; review and complete it again after making the amendments.

Review before completion

Confirm all prepopulated and manually entered values before locking a form, especially where the project design changed after testing began.

Versions, PDF export and submission

Save Version preserves and locks the current paperwork. Every G1 exports on its own portrait page, G2 exports in landscape with its circuit and instrument fields, and G3 exports in portrait only when it is required. Company branding and the form title and information are included.

Export or submit the preserved pack from its row in Submission Versions. Submission emails the account holder and can include selected electricians, manually entered recipients and workspace-level always-include addresses.

Submission sends documentation

Check the saved version and all intended recipients before confirming submission. The preserved PDF is attached to an automated LVA Power Planner email.
